Front Desk Receptionist
JOB SUMMARY:
Utah Nonprofit Housing Corporation (UNPHC) is Utah’s largest non-profit developer, owner, and manager of affordable housing for low and very low-income individuals and families. UNPHC is both a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for all visitors and callers at the corporate office. This role is responsible for providing professional, courteous, and efficient front desk and administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The receptionist will support internal staff and external guests, and will assist with clerical tasks to support the functioning of the corporate team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in a front desk, receptionist, or customer service role required.
- Experience in a non-profit or affordable housing organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and standard office equipment (printers, copiers, fax, etc.).
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
DUTIES:
- Greet and assist all visitors and clients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails to appropriate staff.
- Manage the front lobby area to ensure it remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Receive and distribute mail and deliveries; manage outgoing correspondence.
- Maintain office supply inventory and place orders as needed.
- Assist with scheduling, conference room reservations, and meeting coordination.
- Provide general clerical support including document preparation, filing, and data entry.
- Support event planning and staff communications as needed.
- Respond to inquiries about UNPHC’s mission and services, redirecting questions to appropriate departments.
- Ensure that safety and emergency procedures for the front desk are followed.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
OTHER:
This is a full time non-exempt position reporting to the Associate Director. Employees working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits. A valid Utah driver’s license is preferred. UNPHC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
